Media personality, Olympian and SPASA ambassador, Nicole Livingstone MCed the 2011 SPASA Awards of Excellence presentation evening at ZINC on 27th August 2011.

This glamorous event, held by the Yarra River was sponsored by leading industry suppliers and supporters.

Goldfish Pools & Landscapes headlined as winners of the 2011 Pool of the Year Award sponsored by Remco Pool Cover and Enclosures. Digby Roberts is the founder, and managing director of Goldfish Pools & Landscapes.

Established in 1990 with an emphasis and commitment to quality and service - Goldfish has grown to incorporate in-house designers, builders and landscapers.

Goldfish Pools & Landscapes have been members of SPASA for five years - this is the first time they have won the coveted Remco Pool of The Year Award. Precision in construction, and attention to detail is the philosophy at this Brighton-based pool company.

Goldfish also won Best Residential Concrete Pool over $100,000, sponsored by Raypak.

David Luck, chair of the jury cites “...it is the ultimate lifestyle ensemble of swimming pool, spa, courtyard, art, and landscape, integrating fully with the architecture, a complete luxury environment.”

Sustainability, innovation and solar energy is highlighted by the winners of the 2011 POOLSIDE Product Innovation Award - Sunbather for their product SR-1 Solar Powered Roller. Based in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula Sunbather are leaders in pool efficiency and water safety.

Equal winners were Clevaquip for their Puresilk Water Quality Management system – truly a great leap forward in pool water management. Sunbather scored again with the, 2011 savewater! Sustainability Award

Rainwise Coburg has again won the SPASA Water Neutral Pool Award sponsored by Yarra Valley Water. Rainwise has everything a pool or spa owner may need in relation to water harvesting, usage and conservation - the company makes the most of free water from the sky and clever water usage systems.

The prime in-ground Spa of the year award - Best Residential Spa, sponsored by AstralPool Australia was won by Aloha Pools for a rounded wet deck spa with negative edge pool. Jury chair David Luck “this spa was very modern-art in profile and space-age.”

Multi-award winning Out from the Blue scored again with Best Residential Concrete Pool Under $100,000 sponsored by OneSteel Reinforcing.

Country based pool winners Naughtons Pools & Spas won a swag of awards including the Best Residential Fibreglass Pool under $35,000 for a swimming pool in Echuca, sponsored by AstralPool Australia - this award is highly prized.

Naughtons Pools & Spas newly opened display centre in Shepparton scored the Best Pool Display sponsored by Aquatics & Recreation Victoria.

Intrepid retailer with Naughtons Pools & Spas, Mark Hay walked away with the Sales Person of the Year – Retail – this award was also sponsored by Remco.  Great effort Naughtons!

A vibrant Point Cook pool by Gordon Avenue Pools and Spas has won gold as the Best Residential Fibreglass Pool Over $35,000 with the Award sponsored by Clevaquip.

Gordon Ave has been putting the people of Geelong and districts, the Great Ocean Road and the Surf Coast in the swim of things for more than 25 years. And as they say at Gordon Ave “we’re very happy to show off!”.

Geelong based pool company Narellan Pools Geelong were the winners of the Best Fibreglass, Acrylic or Vinyl-lined Pool by a Country Member – this award was sponsored by AstralPool.

Mediterranean Swimming Pools of Goulburn Valley Highway Kialla won the Best Concrete Pool by a Country Member, the award was sponsored by OneSteel Reinforcing.

Mediterranean Swimming Pools has a strong and long history, from childhood swims in the Goulburn River to concrete pools, this family company continues to win praise and awards.
