Please quote Brooke Hanson

“I would like to thank everybody who has sent my family and I messages of support over the past few days and in particular the MFB, the Paramedics and the staff at The Alfred Hospital who assisted me yesterday.

“At the moment all I want to do is rest but I look forward to getting back on my feet and into the pool as soon as possible to continue my training and my work with all my sponsors.”

17th June 2007- 9.45pm

Brooke Hanson was exiting a demonstration pool at the SPASA (Swimming Pool and Spa Association of Victoria) Spa & Pool Show at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre around 4pm today when she appeared to lose balance and fall heavily.

First aid was immediately provided by Exhibition Centre staff and an ambulance was called.

Brendan Watkins, spokesperson for SPASA, said that appropriate authorities were informed to investigate the incident.

"We've had WorkSafe and Energy Safe Victoria on site.  David Guthrie-Jones from Energy Safe Victoria has advised SPASA that their initial investigations show that no fault with any of the electrical equipment could
be found." Mr Watkins said.

"Our prime concern is for Brooke - we plan to keep in close contact with her and her family over the next few days."
