Out From The Blue based in Hawthorn has won the Swimming Pool and Spa Association (SPASA) Pool of the Year Award.
The award is the most prestigious in the industry and was announced at the 2006 SPASA Awards of Excellence held in Melbourne last night at Federation Square.
Speaking at the Awards ceremony Ted Martin SPASA President said: "The swimming pool industry in Victoria is estimated to be valued at $600 million and employs around 10,000 Victorians directly and indirectly through associated industries."

Mr Martin said the awards reflected Australia’s prominent swimming culture and the ongoing development of technology which made swimming pools one of the most efficient recyclers of water when compared with other industries.
"Swimming pools and spas which fundamentally recycle water are estimated to use around .02% of all water with the Government / SPASA water conservation program saving as much water as used to fill the pool each year from the average home. This has made new swimming pools and spas in Victoria water saving positive."
Mr Martin said that Victoria has a very high standard of swimming pool construction with some 5150 new pools and spas being built annually.
